Jolly Good.
My my, looks like exams really have slowed me down this year. I'm impressed.
On Friday night, my family was invited up to our neighbour's house for dinner (Gary and Suzie this is. I've mentioned them before.) It was lovely, Suzie cooked delicious Malay cuisine! I ate way too much aha.
My favourite moment was when Gary learned about my DMV aspirations. He looked like he swallowed a lemon, it was priceless! A little explanation: Gary grew up in the English countryside during World War Two. Animals were food, not friends. In essence, he is not a critter person. So when he learned that one of his favourite young people (that's me) was looking to devoting their entire life to making sure animals are treated more and more like humans, he was mildly distressed. But he recovered well, and even discussed the ethics surrounding euthanization with me for a time.
Oh, and did I mention their nephew A was visiting from the UK? Friday was the first time we'd met, and we got along very well. In fact, we went to see a movie together on Saturday night! The movie was meh, but I still had fun!
Unfortunately he left on Monday. He promised to call next time he's in town, but we're not sure when that will be... Is it possible to be both happy and depressed all at the same time?

Godzilla Gummy Bear.
Living For The Weekend.
Specifically for next weekend once finals are at last over. But in general I find this is true, especially since we have had a rash of rainy weeks and sunny weekends.
I have my first exams on Friday, Calculus and Natural Disasters. Cross your fingers for me! If you can't cross your fingers, crossing your eyes will do. And if you can't cross your eyes...well first of all I'm sorry for pointing it out (that wasn't very sporting of me) and secondly I will cross my fingers for you instead and reap the karma-related benefits that way.
...Ugh. Time to go study.

Carrot-ie Kid.
Inspired by MC and her Tae Kwon Do test tomorrow. Kind of a long story...it's her green-and-orange belt test, which made us think of carrots, which made us think of vegetable martial artists...which made me itch to paint this. I only did it in about two hours mind you, so it's a little rough. But cute, I hope.
So, in my mind, this is what happens when you try to kill a carrot trained in the ancient art of Tae Kwon Do which we shall use poetic licence to call 'Karate', even though we know it's not, so that the pun will work.
Looks like we need a new cutting board! ;)

Feed Nova Scotia ... Cows?
Dad Geoff and I went to volunteer at the food bank last night, as we are wont to do some Tuesdays. Our job is mostly to sort out good cans (undented) from bad cans (dented).
I was pretty beat by the time I got there. That is my excuse.
Anyway, one box was full of cans of dog food:
See the doggie on the can?
The next box was filled with cat food:
See the kitty on the can?
The third box I opened was full of yellow PC brand cans with pictures of cows on the front. And (for a split second mind you) I thought to myself "Who would donate a box full of cow food?"
It was evaporated milk actually. Much more useful. In my defence, anyone could have made that mistake! Okay, well, maybe just me...

Punctuation Please.
"Let's eat Grandma!"
"Let's eat, Grandma!"
Punctuation saves lives.
Hahaha, I'm one of those people who tries to write emails and texts in proper English. Obsessive? Maybe, although personally I prefer "fastidious".
Anyway, I read the above and it made me laugh. As for what's actually going on in my life? Finals are starting. I already wrote my Geo Lab exam, and my last day of exams is December 16th, and then I'm free! Free as a bird! Until January anyway. But who looks that far ahead?

Oh Christmas Tree.
Today I was looking around my poor, non festive dorm room and trying to figure out a way to holiday it up. I only had one piece of coloured paper (green).
Then I realized I still had all the fliers from my orientation package in my filing cabinet! I cut all the red and green ones into strips and made a festive paper chain, which now hangs across my ceiling! Now that's what I call recycling! Although my garland does have such things as "The Pita Pit!" and "Mr. Submarine!" and "Campus Copy!" written on it...oh well...
I also made a little Christmas tree from that one piece of paper, some paint, and a crocheted string:

Why University is like Preschool:
1. You cry for your mother.
2. You cross the street without looking for cars.
3. Nap time is a necessity (as is snack time).
4. You bundle up for the outdoors without caring what you look like (because
everyone else looks just as stupid as you do).
5. You wear big mittens (possibly with strings attached).
6. You wear your backpack on both shoulders.
7. You never eat what you are supposed to eat.
8. Playing in the snow is a legitimate activity.
9. Your parents are smart again.
10. You can't remember all your classmates' names.
11. Someone else prepares all your meals.
12. You prefer books with pictures instead of words.

Geoff, NM and I went to the annual Chronicle Herald Parade of Lights on Saturday night! It was lovely, if a little cold and wet. In any case, it really put me in the holiday mood!

Years Pass Like Seconds Out Here.
I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but my goal in going to university is first to get my BSc, then go to Vet College and become a DMV. Seems a little weird that I've been keeping this blog for more than half a year and I never wrote about my career goals, but there you go, haha.
Anyway, today I went to career counseling to see what exactly needs doing. The list is staggering:
Take following courses:
Genetics - nope.
Microbiology - nope.
Two Animal Biology Electives - no.
Math General - yes!
Math Statistics - not yet.
Organic Chemistry - nope.
Two Chem Electives - nope.
Physics - as of right now? ...nope.
English Composition - yes!
English Elective - no...
Three Humanities or Social Sciences - once again, no.
Five Electives - 2/5 done.
Waaaaaaaah!!!! T_T
Oh well, if it was easy everyone would do it I guess. I'll still do my best! *fist pump*
And if nothing else, I'll be an exceptionally well educated dog walker. *sigh*
P.s: I know this is repetition, but seriously - I LOVE turtles. Sorry the picture is small, that was the biggest I could make it...

Sunny Saturday.
Soeul Restaurant.
On Friday JY and MC and I went to a Korean place in the downtown core. I drove. It was nerve wracking. Well, for my passengers anyway. *cackles*
The food was too good! Both MC and I are a little wary of the spicy, MC more so than me. Especially since JY sneak attacked us with kimchi and the old 'it's not that spicy!*looks innocent*'. Ha. ;)
Anyway, I got something I can't pronounce, it started with a C. I think it was sweet potato noodles with veggies and ground beef in a sesame seed sauce. Loved it.
Then, after some directional confusion, we picked up Geoffrey from school and went for coffee before splitting for the evening.
It's days like this that make me smile.

Now that's creepy. Clearly one of them is a face stealing shape shifting alien. Or they're related. Or it's a coincidence. View the evidence, decide for yourselves.

News to Me.
So apparently the people in charge of inservices at university aren't total jerks after all. I always thought it wasn't fair, how my little brother gets all these random days off!
But today I learned that this week is only three days long!!! That's right, on Tuesday I realized my last class was Wednesday...Out of the loop much?
I did know Remembrance Day was a holiday, but Friday is an official 'Study Day' (study for what I don't know, but I'm not complaining!). So I take back some of the nasty, sarcastic comments I made about the sometimes stingy department-of-random-days-off. Maybe. ;)

Have I mentioned I LOVE Chinese food?
Mum ordered Chinese food from our favourite restaurant on Sunday night as a surprise for Dad when he got home from work. Geoffy and I drove in to get it, despite the rain and wind.
The Great Wall on Bedford Row has been a crowd pleaser at our house for years. The owner (I believe his name is Patrick) is very personable, and the food is delicious. Not especially healthy. But delicious. I recommend the number 12.
Also earlier today Mum Geoff and I went to the Halifax Shopping Centre. I got some jeans. I know you were wondering! ;)

Remember, Remember, the Fifth of November...
Those lines always haunted me when I was little. I didn't know where they were from for a long time. I thought Remembrance Day was on the fifth probably until I was nine. I still don't know a lot about Guy Fawkes, or the bonfires in England. But I like the poetry of them all the same.
It's raining hard tonight. If anyone tried to light bonfires in Halifax, I think they're probably having a hard time. Geoff and I took the dog for a walk this afternoon in the downpour. Our whole walk was spent discussing the motto for Playdough and applying it to various other objects:
Zombies! (Fun to play with, not to eat.)
Shoe Polish! (Fun to play with, not to eat.)
Dust Bunnies! (Fun to play with, not to eat.)
Poison! (Fun to play with, not to eat.)
You get the idea. It was most amusing.
Tonight we watched 'V for Vendetta' for the first time on a whim. Didn't know it had anything to do with November 5th. How's that for a freaky coincidence? In other news, it's now one of my favourite movies.
In conclusion: Happy Guy Fawkes Day from a girl who has never been to England and whose entire knowledge of the holiday comes from two lines of a poem, the aforementioned movie, and the old computer game 'Pink Panther: Passport to Peril', which actually had a huge impact on my formative years. (This perhaps explains a lot...'I can't believe it's not yak butter!')

Gold Paint and Saege.
From Friday:
Can you believe it's been almost six months since I've started blogging? This is getting ridiculous, ha ha.
Today JY, MC and I visited our high school. It was great to see all of our old teachers. Especially now that they're not our teachers, if you know what I mean. I surprised them all by saying that IB was worth it, which in turn surprised me. Wasn't that what they were telling us all along? Yeesh. ;)
JY and I parted ways with MC, then traveled (spontaneously) via bus to Spring Garden Road. Our stops included TD, many shoe stores and an art supply shop, where I finally purchased that gold paint I've been whining about. On another note, Sunfish is finished. I just have to take a picture.
Before we knew it suppertime had arrived. We went to a favourite cafe of mine, called Saege. It is now a favourite of JY as well. I think we were the only people there under 40, but still lovely.
And we've made plans for Halloween! I'm so excited! Dad dropped off my costume and various extras today so I'm all set.

Yay! It was not me who blundered!
Dear bed,
I'm sorry I abandoned you this morning. I miss you and I want you back! Nat Dis confused me, lied to me, promised me a midterm exam this morning at 8:30, and what could I do but go? Of course, like any knave, he canceled on me. So now I have returned to you! Please forgive me? I promise never to leave you again!
Love love love,
Livi
Explanation: I had a midterm scheduled this morning in Natural Disasters. But the prof accidentally left the answers on the exam. So he had to cancel and move it to next Tuesday. Upside? More time to study. Downside? I still had to get up at 7:30.

Fear The Darkness.
JY and I have volunteered at the Bluenose Ghosts Haunted House at Alderney Landing for the past three years in a row. Best year yet? Perhaps. Here are some pictures.
The first night we were in the clown room. I was a demonic clown (see above) and JY was running the robot clown which swoops down on people. It was lots of fun, but we were both hoarse by night's end from screaming and evil cackling.
Night two, I was the zombie nurse. JY was wearing the mask seen above and stood behind a wall with picture frames on it. The inside of one frame would drop and she'd stick her head out. Very fun, but one girl almost kicked me in the face, and JY got poked a lot.
Overall a successful year. The best part is when people scream, then start laughing. It shows us that they're really having a good time! Can't wait for the next one!

Happy Birthday Mom!
Mom's birthday was Friday! We ate supper at Il Mercado's, and got cake from Scanway (have I mentioned I love Scanway?)
Geoff and I got her a new covered glass cake plate, to replace the one she broke about a month ago, and some makeup that she really wanted. Dad got her a beautiful necklace, with sliver sea shells and blue and green beads.
Shakespeare once wrote "Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them." (Twelfth Night)
All I know is I have the world's greatest mom. I'm so proud of her!

Premonitions.
According to a friend, if you have the same dream twice it means it will come true, while if you have the same dream three times, it will happen the exact opposite.
Assuming this is true:
(1) I will never be chased by the monster from 'Where the Wild Things Are' through the halls of the IWK hospital on Halloween. Nor will I hide from said monster in a random root cellar with all my friends from preschool and my teacher. Nor will my teacher decide to feed me to the monster so that everyone else can escape. (YAY!)
(2) I will have coffee with Tom Kastle at a Starbucks in Montreal in the middle of a blizzard. In fact, we have to walk through the blizzard to get to Starbucks, with only Christmas lights to guide our way. (...Yay?)
(3) I will marry a mysterious, face-less man with lots of money. And broad shoulders. (Not sure how I feel about the faceless part, but the rest sounds pretty good! So YAY!)
(4) Anton Yelchin will not declare his undying love for me. (D'aw...)
By the way, that first one was actually a recurring nightmare I had when I was little. Oh, and here's Anton, just for good measure. Isn't he precious?

Senior Moments Already? Oh The Joys of Growing Up...
Every Wednesday morning at eight thirty five I have Math Tutorial. Now, I'm not really an early morning kind of girl: don't get me wrong, I get up early. I just don't like it. So I'll be the first to admit that I wasn't performing at optimal capacity this morning.
Halfway through the class, I heard a loud thump coming from behind me. I was pretty bleary, and just assumed that the kid in the next row back had dropped his book or something. Didn't even look.
Turns out that thump was the sound of my cell falling out of my pocket and onto the floor.
I go happily through my day, not realizing it's missing. Get back to my room, notice my phone was off the hook. I fix it and literally five minutes later my telephone's a ringing.
It seems some kind kid brought my poor little phone to the TA. He in turn emailed myself and my parents. The most embarrassing part is that he thought I was an open house kid: too young for university!!!
I have to go pick it up from him tomorrow...so embarrassing...
But reading this made me feel a little better. At least I know now it only gets better with age!

Visitors.
We had a lovely visit with some family this weekend. Aunt Elaine, the fabled quiltress, flew down on Saturday. She was planning to stay with us for a night before busing down to Sydney to visit with her daughter, son-in-law and gorgeous granddaughter for two weeks.
Little did she know, Mum planned a surprise. Cousin Erika, her boyfriend Rob and baby Frances drove down to meet her at the airport. Much screaming and hugging ensued. Then everyone came back to our place for a sleep over of sorts.
Cousin Erika and he-who-shall-now-be-known-as-Cousin-Rob (a. He's my cousin's permanent partner, and b. he's thinking about buying a sailboat. Enough said.) as well as baby Frankie slept in my parents room, my parents slept in my room, Aunt Elaine slept in Geoffrey's room, Geoffrey slept in the furnace room and I shared the couch with the dog. All in all though, a very happy evening.
Here are pictures of my cousin's baby: depending on your point of view, Frankie Moon is either my second cousin (my view) or my niece(J.Y and M.C's view). The little one and I are still ironing out the details haha.
p.s: In that last one she has a fist-full of my hair. Too precious!

To My Brother, Who Ignores My Text Messages.
Geoffrey, Geoffrey, where is your phone?
Sitting so lonely, turned off, at home.
If it could speak to you, what would it say?
"Take me to school, don't just hide me away!
Sitting so lonely, turned off, at home.
If it could speak to you, what would it say?
"Take me to school, don't just hide me away!
The principle won't see you as his arch nemesis,
If you don't take me out while on the premises!
You won't get in trouble, you won't be harassed,
As long as you turn me off while you're in class!
Plus then your sister can call you."
The End.
You won't get in trouble, you won't be harassed,
As long as you turn me off while you're in class!
Plus then your sister can call you."

Midterms.
An original poem in two lines:
We swore we were ready, that we were grown up;
So life was like 'Fine bitch!' and now we're like 'Fuck...'
We swore we were ready, that we were grown up;
So life was like 'Fine bitch!' and now we're like 'Fuck...'

Fish in Progress.
I've started painting again, a piece in the style of 'Superstition Mountains'. Its working title is 'Sunfish', but that may change in time. I usually go through a couple of names before finding the right fit. Just waiting on a gold paint pen to finish! And possibly some orange-y-er red, depending on how dark what's on there now dries...

Wishy-Washer Woman.
I remember reading somewhere that it's better for the environment and for your clothes if you handwash them and hang them to dry. Old-soul that I can be, I decided to give it a go. Not to mention the machines on my floor were all in use at the time...but let's just keep the self-less, environmentalist excuse! ;)
Grabbed my handy dandy MP3 and away I went!
I started by sorting my dirtys by colour and water temperature. I hadn't realized there was so much until it was all lying in piles on the floor, but I was already committed to sustainability! (plus, as I said before, the washing machines were busy)
Started with warm-water darks, and realized part-way through that I hadn't set up my drying rack...whoops! After that was sorted, I hung them up with towels underneath to catch any drippings. Used the now-cool water from warm-water darks to wash the rest of my colours. Then the rinse water from cool-water darks to wash whites. There was quite a bit of shuffeling (I used my blue bin as a second sink) but now all done!
And I have blisters on my hands from kneeding and wringing all that wet fabric. My poor paws feeling like I've just spent an afternoon hauling wet ropes while sailing.
Maybe I should wear my sailing gloves if I try this again...
Didn't get to towels, maybe later. Now I know why washer-women in books and movies always have red hands and huge, muscel-y arms! I'm bushed!

Assistant Administrator:
I was working with my mother this morning at a seminar for the family physicians of the IWK. Just administrative work: you know, handing out receipts, making sure everyone has a name tag, directing tech support and testing the food for poison. Plus I got paid.
It was pretty neat actually. The docs are all really fun, and the first presentation was 'Maternal Health in Third world Countries', very interesting. Then was 'Obesity and Pregnancy' and after that I got bored and stopped listening...stuff about new drugs and vitamin D I think.
You know you're at a maternal health seminar when a vendor is running around at eight in the morning yelling "Has anyone seen my plastic vagina!?" The poor concierge nearly fainted from embarrassment when he found out that this was the contents of the box he had helped her carry up haha.
The food was so good! I'm sure I've said this before, but I love Scanway! Pumpkin soup, vegetable strudel and creme brule! Yumm!
And mom got a set of martini glasses from Nova Scotia Crystal as a thank-you for all her work organizing it. Just beautiful!

Said The Whale.
Usually I don't endorse music. Okay, so I talk about Joel rather a lot. And there was a Dashboard Confessional post awhile ago. But this song captures my happy-heart-skipping-feet feeling today. And that's my excuse.
Here's a picture of them too. Just to brighten up my otherwise blah post, since youtube won't let me embed the video.

Giggles
I have them today. I don't know why!
Good music, good food. Good friends, when I see them.
Might be leaving Spanish!
Giggles, giggles...I feel like celebrating!
Mimosas for everyone! Orange juice + champagne = win.
I have just decided that for my nineteenth birthday I want only lottery tickets and mimosas. And I have discovered my favourite synonyms for drunk: soused, sauced, snockered, and in one's cups.
Love! Also a shout out to my second follower. I just noticed you were there, and I thank you good sir!

My Geo Class Be Rockin'! I'm so Lame...
Haha, oh my. It had to be done.
Classes are going well overall. I'm not overly appreciating Spanish, so I might switch out to Natural Disasters instead.
I'm loving geology. Especially the lab portion. Admittedly, the fact that our coordinator is a young male and a little on the cute side might help, but we get also to spend time outside and play around with maps. And field trip on the 30th! Sweeet...

Serendipitous to Say The Least.
I will give you a rundown of my Wednesday. Because I know you're interested.
(1) I am fast asleep, in my own happy little dream world. Then I hear this annoying beeping. What could it be I wonder? I can't ignore it. Oh, it's my cell phone. Odd, usually it buzzes when I get a text. It is from J.Y:
'Math class is starting, where r u?'
Shit. I throw on some clothes, gather up some school supplies, stick my head under the tap so my hair isn't sticking up and jog across campus. Only seven minutes late. Not bad.
(2) I walk happily to Spanish, knowing that the most stressful part of my day is over. Sit down five minutes early in room 2016. Start eating my breakfast. Why isn't anyone here yet? I check my schedule again. Spanish, class 2116.
Not again! I leap out of my chair, run to the other side of the building, and arrive only two minutes late this time.
(3) Class is over! I now run back to my room in order to gather everything I need for work. As I leave, the door closes behind me and locks automatically. And I realize I have locked my keys inside. Oops, no time to worry about that now, got to catch the bus!
(4) Waiting for bus. It's ten minutes late. Just about to start walking across town when it pulls up. Whew! Finally a break! Time to go to work!
(5) Work is finished. The sun is out. I decide to walk back to my dorm, since I hadn't had time to swim laps that morning. I am just far enough away from the bus stop to make it not worth while to turn back when it starts to pour down torrential rain. Luckily I forgot my raincoat at work the week before. Things are actually starting to look up!
(6) I arrive home, tired and exhausted. Squelch my way up to my room. Remember I'm locked out. Squelch back down to security were I am familiarized with Lockout Procedure. Up to my room again. Hey, at least I know what to do if it happens again!
(7) Tummy grumbles. Time for supper! Get to meal hall, pick up my plate. Just about to spoon some delicious looking pasta onto said plate when the fire alarm goes off. Outside again for half an hour. On the bright side, it stopped raining!
(8) Finally supper, back upstairs, bed. Exhausted!
Odd, although this wasn't a model day, I can't help being grateful. In a lot of places it could have been much worse than it was! Hence serendipitous.

Cake Pop Carnage.
This is what I get for trying to follow a recipe described to me the day before in two sentences, from those two sentences.
All started out well. First I made my classic chocolate cake. (If you want the recipe, I posted it a while back. See 'The Chocolate Cake'.) Since it is a never-fail kind of thing, it turned out beautifully.
Then I made a batch of icing (not the one which usually goes with the cake, I'll post this later perhaps). This particular frosting is very time consuming. You have to melt bakers chocolate, add icing sugar and egg whites and various other bits, all while trying not to burn it. I ruined the first batch waiting for dad to go get eggs. Whoops! Should have made sure I had everything before I started I guess. But round two was delicious, and just the right amount!
Next you crumble up that beautiful cake (I know, it was hard for me too.) and pour in the icing. Mix it well, then shape into timbit sized balls and place them on a cookie sheet. If you don't know what a timbit is....*sigh*...It's a doughnut hole.
Then you melt the coloured chocolate and first dip the candy sticks in this, then into the balls so that the melted chocolate acts like a glue. Up to this point all was well, as you can see. I was very proud of my verbal recipe following skills.
I cannot describe what happened next. So I will show you.
*Gasp* I can't watch!
*Sob* Is it over? *Uncovers eyes*
We will never speak of this massacre again. At least they still tasted good....

Queen For A Day.
Saturday:
Today was my Aunt Melba's 60th birthday!!! Well, actually she's my great aunt. Okay, my step-great-aunt. My family is complex.
My grandmother planned the party from beginning to end. The theme was queen for a day, so all the ladies got these little foam crowns, and the cake was purple with a big crown on top. My cousins Amanda and Robin (Second-step-cousins. You get the idea.) decorated it themselves, it looked so professional (But then Robin is a wedding planner and Amanda is an awesome baker). And they made these things called cake pops, which I really want to try. Robin said she'd e-mail me her recipe.
I also got to meet Amanda's fiance Kelly. Technically I met her in Toronto, but it was a long time ago so I don't really remember. They're getting married next fall on Tancook Island! Sooo excited!

Boat Cruise Sorta...Minus the Cruise.
Friday night:
So today N.M and J.Y and I had bought tickets to go on the Frosh Week booze cruise. It was wet and dry, meaning you didn't have to be legal. N.M ended up splitting off early to visit with some others, but J.Y and I stayed together. We met a couple of new girls who were a great deal of fun (whether because they were intoxicated or in spite of this fact I'm not sure...) and spent the evening with them.
However the cruise...it was more of a booze float. Because there was underage drinking, they couldn't leave the wharf. And anyone under nineteen had to sit downstairs.
Summary: paid $30 to sit on floating benches, listening to the radio. Biggest ripoff of my life.

Harmonicas Are A Girl's Best Friend
Thursday Night:
Classes have been good so far, it's mostly introductory material. Like the names of the professors, and their office hours, and their phone numbers (which you're instructed is a hopeless way to try to contact them anyway. Once guy even mentioned that he unplugged his answering machine to charge his cell phone.)
J.Y. and I went to the Matt Mays concert on the quad tonight. We were supposed to meet up with N.M. and a couple of his new friends, but we never found them.
Now, Matt Mays isn't really my style of music. But sitting on the grassy quad on a cool night under the stars? Very much my style thanks. And really, what started as screechy scratchy noise soon began to grow on us.
And J.Y. and I discovered a shared passion for the harmonica (Best parts were when Mr. Mays stopped screaming and started piping away on this little instrument. Very campfire-ish.)
The night ended with a lovely display of fireworks! And now it's the weekend and I'm going home for a visit!

Frosh Week Finale
Wednesday Night:
Marianas Trench was awesome! At least I really enjoyed it. We were like fifteen feet from the stage and everyone was screaming and jumping. At one point the guitarist threw his waterbottle into the crowd and it almost brained J.Y haha.
The opening band was actually better than MT in my personal opinion. They're from Vancouver and called 'The Zolas'. I looove them. iTunes here I come!
Classes start tomorrow and honestly I'm kind of nervous. I have Bio and Geology. We'll see...
A really crappy picture of Marianas Trench that I took on my poor sad little phone.
But trust me, it's them. I promise!
Ahaha, it's kind of like those Loch Ness Monster and UFO pics.

Guinness Anyone?
Woke up in a much better frame of mind today. J.Y and N.M and I went to this thing called the 'Amazing Race' for science students. Basically we split off into groups of 15 with leaders and took pictures of ourselves at various places on campus. Helpful, and I met several new people including R-boy, J, R-girl, and Y. (Not knowing their last names makes the whole initial thing very difficult!)
We tried to break the Guinness World Record for the most people doing Zumba for 30 minutes. It was really fun, but we only had 520 people and unfortunately needed 750. Darn you Australia and your student body who actually participates!
Here's the link for the video taken by the news station, I'm in it!!! In the first few shots, I'm the short stubby red-head in the black rain-coat.

Tonight is the Marianas Trench concert, I'm pretty excited even though I only know a few of their songs, and they're a little over-played. But still. Marianas Trench.

WHO'S THERE?!? Oh... Hi Mom.
I do have one funny story. I woke up early this morning and heard someone knocking on my door. My mother had decided that eight was the perfect time to drop off a little package.
That was fine, and it was good to see her.
It was only later that I realized she had stapled some pictures from icanhazcheezeburger.com to the personal bulletin board outside my room.
